TRUE NORTH FALL 2020 Reveal
Fall 2020 was such a fun box to curate. We had some amazing makers eagerly come alongside us to make products that would bring some joy and comfort as they landed on your front porch and from the responses we've received it seems as though they did just that.
At TRUE NORTH we try to capture the wonder of all things Canadian. We do our best to select items that tell a story and for those of you who received a Fall box you also received our 'Cabin Tales', because really ... who doesn't love a good story! OK, then just humor us lol. (For those of you who didn't receive the box you'll find our box story in another blog post)

THE WOODEN ELEPHANT (Maple Leaf Sign)
We can not talk highly enough about the wonderful couple, Sam & Cassie, who are the creators behind the name The Wooden Elephant. To us, these lovely people encapsulate the heart of the small Canadian business owner. They are so willing to work with our ideas and always bring their creative input to any project giving us no doubt that they will create something heart warming and welcoming. They have been show cased in our previous boxes and we look forward to fun projects in the future.
You can find them on facebook and @the.wooden.elephant
NORTH COUNTRY GRAINS (Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix)
Ryan and Amy Hofford committed to farm life in Bowsman, Manitoba, after deciding to take over the family farm after the loss of Ryan’s father. The farm land was soon transitioned to Organic Production, and Ryan and Amy grew their first Certified Organic crop in 2009.
A stone mill was purchased in 2013, and a provincially inspected processing facility was built on the farm. The flour business gave Amy an opportunity to work from home while raising their young family.
North Country Grains started by first offering stone ground flour and quickly expanded to include their signature whole grain flour mix collection.
The North Country Grains Flour Collection is available in select stores across Manitoba, as well as available through the farm’s online shop.

SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL BATH BODY & HOME (Lemon & Rosemary Loofah Soap)
I had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie when she owned her brick & mortar store Anchored @21 in Port Colborne, Ontario. Since that time Bonnie has taken her store on-line where she continues to partner with some amazing makers. Bonnie, herself is also a wonderful maker creating bath, body & home products. The Lemon & Rosemary Loofah soap was a wonderful addition to our Fall box giving us a reason to indulge in some self care. You can find Bonnie on-line @anchoredat21 and @skowbathbodyhome. HUMBLE BEE CANDLES (all natural Pumpkin & Apple Wood)
It wasn't a hard decision to choose Natalie's candles from Humble Bee Candle Co. Her mission and message of kindness and humility spoke loud to us as so many were battling hard things during the beginning stages of Covid. So choosing a candle with the message CHOOSE KINDNESS was exactly what we wanted to inspire you with. Natalie developed her skills and passion from taking candle workshops in cities like LA and Bangkok.
In 2017 she started the journey of pursuing her dream - a dream to create a brand that promotes humbleness and kindness. She wants to remind herself to be humble and kind and gentle even when the world may not be encouraging you to do so.
Her Pumpkin & Apple Wood Candle was a wonderful addition to our Fall Box
You can find Natalie's candles at humblebeecandles.com
